Although the Bible does not give us details about how the food was stored and how Noah’s family provided animals with water, and what they did with garbage and waste, we can only presume from historical and archaeological data how it all roughly looked like.
However, it is worth remembering that Noah lived a long life, he was 950 years old when he died (Gen. 9:29). In the 600th year of his life he experienced the Flood. His long-lived grandfather Methuselah only passed into eternity a year before the Flood, when he was 969 years old. It was the longest life ever lived on earth by man. Therefore, we can conclude that Noah’s grandparents and parents passed on to him rich knowledge and experience, in addition to which he himself acquired over the long 600 years.
