Dear friends, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit Dinosaur Adventure Land founded by Dr. Kent Hovind. I understand his sad family situation and pray that the Lord will intervene and guide him.
However, when I was 16 years old, he played an important role in strengthening my faith in God. Despite many miracles that had occurred in our family and prayers that were clearly answered by the Lord, the devil still found a loophole in my heart and began to sow doubts about the infallibility of God’s Word. The matter is that when I was in school, I really liked such subjects as biology, physics, and history. As I read about the origins of the world and human history, I could not reconcile the “scientific” discoveries with my faith in what the Scriptures said. The enemy of my soul had planted doubts in my mind about the reliability of the Bible as the Word of God Himself. It was at this time that our pastor’s brother suggested that I watch Dr. Kent Hovind’s seminars, then on videotape. Although I was interested in hearing that science supported the Bible, I was skeptical because I expected a dry, scientific lecture. When I got home and started watching his first seminar, “The Age of the Earth,” I could not tear myself away from the screen. It all sounded so exciting that I ran to get a notebook and frequently paused the video to write down important points that I could then reflect on. And oh, a miracle! I thought, what a fool I had been to doubt the truthfulness of God’s words. After all, He is my Creator! His hand is seen everywhere! Everything has a meaning and a well-thought-out orderly design throughout the universe.
How vividly the words of the Apostle Paul sounded to me, revealed in a new way: “The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth through unrighteousness. For what may be known of God has been revealed in them, because God has shown it to them. The invisible things about Him—His eternal power and deity —have been clearly seen since the creation of the world and are understood by the things that are made, so that they are without excuse. Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him or give thanks to Him as God, but became futile in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools. They changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, birds, four-footed beasts, and creeping things. Therefore God gave them up to impurity through the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their own bodies among themselves. They turned the truth of God into a lie and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.” (Romans 1:18-25). Then I understood the reason for the rejection of the Lord and the moral decline of man – the suppression of truth through unrighteousness, which means there is no desire to know God, and as a result, moral decay leading to eternal perdition. Evolution is just a figment of the human imagination, unconfirmed fantasies, the advancement of political ideology. Perhaps the “wise” of this world do not openly worship creation, but they do so in the belief that creation (matter) itself created everything in the Universe. How can this be? Doesn’t the law of biogenesis prove that life comes only from life? And therefore all life must have a Primary Source of life. Jesus is that life.
The Bible is a unique book, the truth of which is confirmed by both life experience and various fields of science. Its reliability is confirmed by thousands of manuscripts. No literary work can claim such reliability as the Bible. And therefore, it could not have been distorted. It would be impossible to persuade many people to do this. Therefore, the Bible has no equal.
And if it is the Word of God Himself, then it will certainly confirm its truth, even “by seeing the things that are made”, in other words by studying creation.
On Sunday morning, at Genesis Baptist Church, my group and I had the opportunity to sing “There Shall Be Showers of Blessings”. Dr. Kent Hovind asked me to share my testimony live on air.
As a teenager, I never dreamed that I would one day meet the man across the ocean who is one of the most influential people in my spiritual development.
Dr. Kent Hovind loves spending time with children. He has demonstrated many “magic” tricks to teach the children spiritual truths. He has given us all a tour of the creation of the world and scientific evidence to prove the truth of Scripture. What I loved most is that he taught us deep spiritual lessons along with scientific facts. There is a real dedication and commitment to this evangelistic ministry where money is not the goal. Lodging, meals, and tours are free of charge. It is this sincere approach that makes a cheerful giver. These were two wonderful days spent in the park.
